In the end, because Scrooge destroyed the club by being more of a tightwad than post-movie Mr. That is a very very stupid idea, especially when it just makes Scrooge even happier! But the stupidest thing that this episode does that wrecks Scrooge is when he goes on stage to entertain the guests, he just FLASHES OUT his number one dime as if it's some trinket and everybody boos him off the stage! That DIME is the very key to his entire fortune! He would NEVER be stupid enough to just show it off in public where it could easily get lost or STOLEN! By the by, Scrooge is too much of a jaded moron to see that nobody likes his act period. In order to get Scrooge to maybe liven up a bit they do try to out-cheap a cheapskate, by essentially destroying their own business even more, making it unbearable. Here's the thing about Scrooge, HES SMARTER THAN THIS! The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck comic lampshades the fact that the rest of the world might see Scrooge as a curmudgeon who counts his coins, but to the most trained eyes he's the greatest businessman in the entire world! Even Donald knows this! He outright strip-mines the entire club to the point where nobody wants to come at all.
Sure maybe he'd give them a different, cheaper job that's more cost-effective but he'd never fire his favorite nephews! And yes I know in the comics he's fired Donald over minor things, but this is far different. They got absolutely none of his personality right in this episode whatsoever! A plot about him buying the House from Pete and forcing budget cuts should've been hillarious, since he's known for being a tightass sometimes, but instead they outright flanderized Scrooge to embarrassingly cringeworthy levels!Īmong the changes he makes to the house, he fires his own grandnephews Hewey Dewey and Lewey from their jobs as the HoM entertainment, wow, where do I even begin? First and foremost, while Scrooge may have been stingy in the comics and Ducktales, he's business savvy enough to not fire his own family because they don't work for free. While a lot of the typical plots involving Mickey and his friends are good, sometimes they really dropped the ball by the way I'm only gonna be judging the main plots involving the house staff, not the separate cartoons they showed, the quality of both are entirely different. The show was created to celebrate Mickey's 75th birthday, which occurred near the end of the show's run. This show had a very fun concept, Mickey running a clubhouse where all the greatest Disney characters throughout history can sit back, relax and enjoy some great cartoons.
